30 undeniable reasons why supermodels were better in the 90s (and no-one will replace them)
As you may have noticed, any given Sunday (yes, I’m a fan of the movie) I show love for 80-90s supermodels because they truly were a strong influence on me when I was a kid, and it seems like I’m not the only one feeling like there will never be such models as the first real top models. Maybe it’s just nostalgia from a time discovering what beautiful women were, anyhow, Peggy Wang, senior editor at Buzzfeed, seems to feel like me and made a giant “51 reasons why supermodels were better in the 90s” list from which I picked out the 30 best exemples/decisive arguments to prove that:
Back then, models weren’t just pretty clothes hangers — they warranted cult-status obsession. Would you hang up photos of Jessica Stam all over your bedroom walls now? Yeah, I didn’t think so.
1st. Their choreographed dance moves.

2nd. Their ability to pull off looking like a dude.

3rd. Their ability to pull off almost anything.

4th. Naomi Campbell shopping with Ali G.

5th. Naomi Campbell hanging out with every relevant celeb of the ’90s.

6th. Their beautiful friendships with one another.

7th. Their derpiness.

8th. This head tattoo.

9th. This hot Pepsi commercial.

10th. Their happy, healthy smiles.

11th. Their large breasts.

12th. Their small breasts.

13th. Their interminably high foreheads.

14th. Cindy Crawford about to make love to a horse.

15th. Christy Turlington’s telepathic powers.

16th. Linda Evangelista’s athletic skills.

17th. The Fashion Café which showed their entrepreneurial side although no-one actually ate there

18th. Their line of commemorative dolls.

19th. The fact that they weren’t teenagers (the below picture is from January 1990 issue of Vogue)

20th. All the Versace ads.

21st. Naomi Campbell’s love of dogs.

22nd. Naomi Campbell’s giant cellphone.

23rd. Naomi Campbell running faster than a cheetah.

24th. Their matching outfits.

25th. Kate Moss and Naomi Campbell eating ramen together.

26th. The original Victoria’s Secret Angels.

27th. Kate Moss’ pink hair.

28th. Their adventurous eating habits.

29th. Their party lifestyle.

30th. Linda Evangelista’s ever-changing hairstyles.
