“One's destination is never a place but rather a new way of looking at things.” Skateboarding, sneakers and fashion through Flow's eyes

  • And the latest to put his two cents in the Supreme vs Married to The Mob beef is none other than Kidult, that created a mocking t-shirt whose art imitate the famous streetwear brand/skateshop’s trademark, but with a mispelling including a well-thought pun: “Suepreme”.
I guess the funny part is that Kidult is giving it for free on its website (according to what he says, but I can’t see no link to get it) and that within a few days it will be worth a few couple of benjamins on ebay.

  • It must hurt to your soul to read you’re uncool when you’re called Supreme.
My props to Barbara Kruger about her opinion on the current Supreme vs Married to The Mob beef.

  • Kingpin Mag: What projects are you going to be working on in the near future? I’ve heard that you were going to be involved in a Supreme video, what’s the deal with that?
Eric Koston: Yeah I’m involved with that, Bill Strobeck started working on it last summer. He’s been filming most of it on a Hvx (Panasonic) but he might be mixing it up with other stuff. He lives in New York but he recently spent 3 months in L.A because it was too cold out there. I don’t really know what to say about it, I know he’s working on it with quite a few skaters…
Like who? I didn’t even know Supreme had an official team…
It’s a pretty big mix people: Guy Mariano, Scott Johnston, Dill, Van Engelen, Dylan Rieder, Javier Nunez to name a few. I know he’s also been filming a lot with this kid from New York called TJ (Tyshawn Johnson). Even Tyler The Creator filmed a line! It’s going to be quite an interesting mix of guys from different generations, which is cool. I spent a lot of time in schoolyards though… I’m a little bit tired of picnic tables.

Damn, so it’s true, there’s a Supreme skate video on its way with part from Koston, Mariano and Dylan Rieder.
They’re gonna kill the game!

  • Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low - 10 Year Anniversary (2012)

Supreme killed the suspense today and finally unveiled details about its latest collaboration with Nike… that everybody had been talking about since March. The famous skateshop which has had a long-standing relationship with Nike and Nike SB celebrate their 10th Anniversary since the first Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low first dropped with another sneaker whose future is already written: instant sell-out.

This limited release (as usual with the famous skate shop) will be available in-store in NY, LA, London and online at Supreme on July 19th while fans in Japan will have to wait until July 21. After the Yeezy 2 last month, it’s one more great pair and collabo from Nike that will be impossible to grab for a mere mortal.

  • In 2012, Nike keeps on teasing sneakerheads

It seems like in 2012 Nike is in a hide and seek playful mood. Let me explain with 3 examples:

    Nike Air Yeezy 2
First, the swoosh brand has teased us sneakerheads with the Nike Air Yeezy 2 thanks to the help of rapper Kanye West, for almost 2 years, letting a rumor being spread the shoes would launch in April 2012, and finally… we kept on waiting.

Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low – Round 2(012)
In 2002, the Supreme Nike SB Dunk low, a collaboration sneaker with skate store Supreme taking inspiration from the Air Jordan III with its cement print design, were the most sought after sneakers on the market. Only 500 pairs were released at Supreme’s two stores in New York and Tokyo, Japan.

Last April, an image was leaked implying the now more than ever worldwide renowned boutique and Nike SB were joining up once again for another likely hit with a reprisal of one of the most coveted collaborations ever. The all new Supreme x Nike SB Dunk Low were saying to be released later in April. We’re now in May and what happened? Nothing.

Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Entourage’ ‘Nontourage’
One of the most talked about Nike SB sneakers of 2011 is earning a release date: the Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Entourage’, which was a sneaker designed for friends and family of the famous TV show, i.e produced in a very small number of pairs, should release later this month. But for this public version, no more ‘Entourage’ designations, which were originally featured on the insole. Nevertheless, Nike seems determined to compensate for the abscence of 4/20 release this year. These Nike SB Dunk Low Nontourage are rumored to have a production run of just 2,500 units! But will they ever release? Only time will tell.

  • We saw a sneak peek of those sneakers a few weeks ago and were eager to see more as well as to hear a release date.
Now, we know more about those Supreme Nike SB 94 whose release date is November 10th for NY, LA & London stores and online. As for Japan they will drop on November 12th.

The Wheat/Metallic Copper Foamposite are sick!

  • Supreme x Nike SB ‘94 part 2

Almost one year ago, Supreme and Nike SB collaborated to produce an all-new model, the 94„ named after the worldwide famous skateshop establishment date.

Now Supreme and Nike are back again with a new set of colours and materials for their Nike SB ‘94. And that nubuck version pictured below is fire!

  • At times I’d like to remind people Supreme was born as a simple NYC skate shop in the mid 90s and within its 17 year history it has managed to work and gather the most influent people from fashion, music, and art.

Was your favorite luxury store able to do that? Nope.

Was your favorite sporting goods store able to do that? Neither. (by the way is there any “football shop”?)

Was your favorite shop able to turn into a world famous brand? I doubt.

Everybody knows Supreme.
Respect skateboarding, respect our (counter)culture.
